Crystal Palace and Liverpool have a long history of playing against each other in professional football. They first met in a competitive match in 1901, and have since played each other over 70 times in various competitions.

Liverpool were leading 3-0 with just 11 minutes left to play, but a stunning comeback from Crystal Palace saw them score three goals in quick succession to earn an unlikely 3-3 draw.
